# Alibaba releases Qwen-Audio 3.1 Realtime Flash with a larger context window

Alibaba's October 27 Flash release expands context capacity and adds a useful voice-agent tool combination, while retaining audio-history limits.

**Summary:**

Qwen-Audio 3.1 Realtime Flash is available through Alibaba Cloud in Beijing and Singapore, with a 262,144-token context window and unchanged listed token rates.

Alibaba Cloud has released **Qwen-Audio 3.1 Realtime Flash**, a speech-to-speech model for interactive voice applications. Its [official model release log](https://www.alibabacloud.com/help/en/model-studio/newly-released-models) dates availability to October 27, 2026, in both China (Beijing) and the Singapore international region. The API identifier is `qwen-audio-3.1-realtime-flash`; this is a documented hosted service release, not an announcement of downloadable weights.

The distinction matters because Qwen-Audio 3.1 Realtime Plus arrived earlier, on September 20. This week's release brings the Flash variant into the 3.1 generation rather than launching the entire family for the first time.

## A larger context window, without a listed rate increase

The clearest numerical change is context capacity. Alibaba's [3.1 Flash model card](https://help.aliyun.com/en/model-studio/qwen-audio-3-1-realtime-flash) lists 262,144 tokens, compared with 40,960 in the [3.0 Flash card](https://help.aliyun.com/en/model-studio/qwen-audio-3-0-realtime-flash)—a 6.4-fold increase. Maximum output rises from 8,192 to 16,384 tokens.

The two cards list identical token rates in each region. For Beijing, text input, audio input, text output and audio output respectively cost CNY 1.5, 6, 4.5 and 12 per million tokens. Singapore's corresponding listed rates are CNY 1.677, 6.781, 5.104 and 13.636. These are the published CNY rates, not converted dollar quotes or a claim about promotional pricing.

For developers, the larger window could provide more room for instructions and text-based conversational context without a higher advertised per-token rate. It does not establish that responses are more accurate, faster or cheaper for a particular workload; those conclusions would require testing.

## More useful combinations for voice agents

Alibaba's [realtime voice guide, updated October 28](https://www.alibabacloud.com/help/en/model-studio/qwen-audio-realtime-user-guides), explicitly says 3.1 Flash can use web search and function calling together. It distinguishes that capability from 3.1 Plus and the 3.0 variants. That combination could let one voice session retrieve public information and interact with an application's own tools, rather than choosing between the two.

The guide also lists Thai, Vietnamese and Arabic for the 3.1 variants in addition to the 11 languages listed for 3.0. Developers can specify an output speech language, but Alibaba describes compliance as best effort, not guaranteed, and says that setting does not change the language of the response text.

## The audio-history limit still matters

A bigger token window is not unlimited audio memory. The guide retains a ceiling of 50 audio turns and 300 seconds of cumulative audio history for both Flash generations, discarding earlier history when limits are exceeded. Applications needing durable records should not mistake a long-context specification for a complete conversational archive.

Integration remains a separate engineering task: developers need to evaluate interruption handling, language performance and tool permissions against their own use case. PromptsZone has not run hands-on latency or quality tests. The release is noteworthy for its documented capacity and integration changes, not a verified claim that it outperforms competing voice models.
